Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Recipe Goblin, an invitation-only recipe community operated by CS Idea Labs LLC. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Who may use Recipe Goblin

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding agreement. Invitations are personal. You must provide accurate account information, protect your password, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you create. You grant CS Idea Labs LLC a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, format, display, distribute, and moderate that content as needed to operate, secure, promote, and improve Recipe Goblin. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for reasonable backup periods, legal obligations, and copies already shared or incorporated into other members' activity.

You must have the rights needed to submit your recipes, writing, and photographs. Give credit when a recipe is adapted from another source, and do not copy protected photographs or expressive text without permission.

Reviews, ratings, and experience points

Reviews and cook notes must reflect genuine experience. Disclose free products, sponsorships, employment, family relationships, or other connections that could affect how readers evaluate a recommendation. Do not submit fake reviews or coordinate ratings.

Recipe Goblin may award experience points for approved participation. Points are not money, property, or a promise of benefits. They cannot be transferred or redeemed and may be adjusted or removed for mistakes, abuse, deleted content, or rule violations. Review points never depend on giving a positive rating.

Food and health safety

Community recipes are not professionally tested, and Recipe Goblin does not verify nutrition, allergens, ingredient safety, storage instructions, or cooking temperatures. You are responsible for checking ingredients, allergies, dietary restrictions, food handling, equipment, and safe temperatures. Recipe Goblin is not a substitute for medical, dietary, veterinary, or other professional advice.

Unacceptable use

You may not use the service for unlawful, deceptive, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, dangerous, infringing, or fraudulent material. You may not post spam, malware, private information without permission, manipulated engagement, instructions intended to cause harm, or content that interferes with the service. The Community Rules provide more detail.

Moderation and account action

We may use automated tools and human review to approve, limit, label, remove, or preserve content. We may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts to protect the community, comply with law, investigate abuse, or enforce these terms. Moderation can make mistakes. Contact support if you believe a decision should be reconsidered.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content infringes your copyright, email support@recipegoblin.com with your contact information, identification of the copyrighted work, the location of the disputed material, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We may remove material and terminate repeat infringers. This contact information does not by itself represent registration of a designated DMCA agent.

Service availability and disclaimers

The beta may change, lose data, experience interruptions, or end. The service and community content are provided “as is” and “as available” to the fullest extent permitted by law. CS Idea Labs LLC disclaims warranties that are not expressly stated here.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CS Idea Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data, lost profits, personal injury arising from a member's recipe or conduct, or losses caused by unauthorized access. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Recipe Goblin during the previous 12 months or 100 US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Recipe Goblin changes. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
